Healthy Food Trends For 2017
Every year there is a buzz of what is going to be the next big thing in the food world. Will it be a new star chef, a new type of concept, a new type of diet? For healthy food lovers and professionals, it is an exciting time of the year because we get to try and promote new and exciting foods that can also be good for our health. Recent articles and blogs have come out that talk the predictions. Some of the new healthy food trends that we might see in 2017 are more plant-based items that will be taking the place of meat items. Another is more items will be having less and less sugar in them, which is great because the average citizen is getting way too much sugar in their diet then the recommended amount. The big thing that I am excited about is the new healthy snacks. Snacks are now on the rise as more and more of us are eating snacks throughout the day as oppose to eating three large meals. The dangers of snacks is that they can be high in unhealthy fats and contain high amounts of sugar and salt. So the market is now starting to produce healthy smart snacks for all ages. The smart snacks also lead to a new possible trend of the rise of convenient and health foods that are for people on the go. So hopefully we will see a rise in healthy and affordable salads and whole grain products that can be picked up anywhere from the grocery store to the nearby gas station. I am very interested in trying the new unique items such as the soursop and guanabana. They are supposed to taste like salted caramel and I am a total sucker for anything salted caramel.
